Lubbock Christian University

Letter from President

Hello, my name is Jonah Austin, and I will be serving as the 2023-24 school year President of the men’s social club Koinonia. The name Koinonia comes from the Greek word Koine, which means Fellowship, Association, Communion, and Sharing. We strive to be men of God who put others before ourselves, we do this by volunteering regularly at open door and in other ways on campus.

We can’t wait to see you this rush season and go big K!

Jonah Austin

Purpose Statement

The purpose of this club shall be to encourage the proper development of character and integrity, to develop Christ-like leaders, to cooperate with and work for the betterment of Lubbock Christian University, and to guide all members of this club to grow into the fullest Christian maturity possible.

We seek to serve God and others above ourselves. We shall accomplish this mission by providing Christian examples, fellowship, and atmosphere.

Philippians 2:1-5

"If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of the others. Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus"
