Student Organizations

Student organizations provide you with a place to put your passions, ideas, and interests into action. We have 15 active student organizations on campus, and each organization fills a unique niche at LCU. Whether you are interested in student government, business, education, or culture, there is a place for you.

Our student organizations sponsor a variety of campus events throughout the year. Below is a sample of some of the activities, you can help coordinate or participate in while being a member of a student organization. Remember, if you have an idea or an event in mind, get involved and make it happen! Your voice, your world, your campus.

  • Get Busy Bash
    • Annual kick-off party for student organizations! Food and fun in the mall area.
  • TWIRP Week
    • Started out as The Woman Is Required to Pay, now TWIRP is week of fun activities sponsored by Student Senate. Activities include bowling, movie nights, and our traditional variety show Coke 'N' Nacho (aspiring musicians, take note!)
  • Spiritual Renewal Week
    • Get spiritually recharged with guest speakers and worship opportunities.
  • Stress Relief Week
    • De-stress with fun activities and our traditional Pancake Supper during finals week.
  • Taste of Culture
    • Celebrate and showcase the various cultures represented at LCU, while eating some delicious food

A voice for the Students...

Student Senate represents the entire student body of Lubbock Christian University. The student voice is an important component of the LCU community and Student Senate is committed to a campus environment that promotes personal growth, spiritual development, and academic achievement.

Student senators represent each college of the university in providing leadership, facilitating student concerns, organizing student activities, and promoting school pride with a Christ centered focus.

Members of Senate help in the planning and organization of many activities on campus, including:

  • Rally @ the RIP
  • TWIRP Week
  • Spiritual Renewal Week
  • Stress Relief Week
  • Christmas Break Campaigns
  • Spring Break Campaigns
  • and many more...

Student Senate provides many opportunities for interested students. If you would like to become involved in senate as a senator, please come by the Student Senate Office, located on the 1st floor of the Mabee Student Life Building (SUB).

The Student Art Education Association (SAEA) strives to promote visual arts and art education both on campus and in the community. Our organization hopes to not only raise awareness about art, but also to build the community’s knowledge about the excellence of the LCU Art Education program. SAEA encourages students to become active members of Texas Art Educators Association (TAEA) both now and in the future.

SAEA partners with Student Senate for activities and exhibits in association with Creative Arts Week and Out of the Darkness Week. We’ve hosted exhibits of student art, and have sponsored the Get sm’ART! and April Art Camps for children in the Lubbock area. We also occasionally take museum and gallery trips to places like Dallas and Santa Fe.

SAEA is open to anyone interested in advancing the visual arts on campus and in the community, who are enrolled in a minimum of six credit hours. We meet once a month and hope you will join us!
