Paisano

Paisano is an institutional inclusiveness and community engagement initiative created in 2013. The initiative began as an outreach to the emerging Latino community and first generation college students. LCU continues to see growth with both of those populations.

Paisano offers Mini-College Days to students from area schools. These tours are designed to give students a glimpse of college life and an opportunity to hear from current LCU students and faculty members. In addition to the tours, Paisano attends college and career fairs at local elementary and junior high schools. The goal is to promote LCU and the benefits of a college education in our community.

Paisano addresses the needs of LCU’s diverse, first generation, and minority students. Student’s knowledge of diverse cultures is enhanced through special events promoting different cultures. Small groups allow students to have a safe place to share their experience as first generation or minority students.
