West Texas Youth Winds

The West Texas Youth Winds is an exciting new opportunity for band students to make music in the South Plains! The wind ensemble will rehearse in the Hinds Music Center on Lubbock Christian University's campus on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., and is open to all woodwind, brass, and percussion students! Auditions will take place following an informational meeting on January 24, 2026 at the Hinds Music Center beginning at 10 a.m. Makeup auditions will be held January 25 at 4 p.m.

• January 31 – Rehearsal 1
• February 7 – Rehearsal 2
• February 14 – No Rehearsal (TMEA)
• February 21 – Rehearsal 3
• February 28 – Rehearsal 4
• March 7 - Final rehearsal 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., Concert at 2 p.m.

Lubbock Christian University's Director of Bands Dr. Lisa Tatum will serve as Artistic Director of the West Texas Youth Winds, and assistant conductors for 2026 will include Dr. Pershauna Johnson and Tyler Worsham.
