West Texas Youth Winds

The West Texas Youth Winds is an exciting new opportunity for band students to make music in the South Plains! The wind ensemble will rehearse in the Hinds Music Center on Lubbock Christian University's campus on Saturdays from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., and is open to all woodwind, brass, and percussion students! Auditions will take place following an informational meeting on January 25, 2025 at the Hinds Music Center beginning at 10 a.m.

• Saturday, January 25, 10 a.m. - Informational meeting/chair auditions
• Sunday, January 26, 4 p.m. - Make-up meeting for ATSSB honor band students
• Saturday, February 1, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Rehearsal 1
• Saturday, February 8, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Rehearsal 2
• Saturday, February 15 - TMEA
• Saturday, February 22, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Rehearsal 3
• Saturday, March 1, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. - Rehearsal 4
• Saturday, March 8, 10 a.m. - Final Rehearsal, 2 p.m. - Concert

Lubbock Christian University's Director of Bands, Dr. Lisa Tatum will serve as Artistic Director of the West Texas Youth Winds, and assistant conductors for 2024 will include Dr. Pershauna Johnson and Kirsten Rivera.
