Lubbock Christian University (LCU) will host Dinner and a Cho, a special evening featuring Maestro David Cho, Music Director of the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra, on Saturday, January 31, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. The event will take place in the W.R. Collier Auditorium of the Margaret Talkington Center for Nursing Education on LCU’s campus.
Guests are invited to enjoy a dinner, performance, and conversation with Maestro Cho, gaining a behind-the-scenes look at his life, career, and passion for music. The evening will include a question-and-answer session as Cho shares his journey from South Korea to West Texas and reflects on how music ultimately brought him to Lubbock.
Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, David Cho immigrated to the United States in 1985. He studied orchestral conducting at Rice University and has since built an internationally recognized career. Cho has guest conducted renowned orchestras including the National Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Philharmonic, and he made his Carnegie Hall and Kennedy Center debuts in 2004. After guest conducting the Lubbock Symphony Orchestra in 2007 and 2009, Cho became the Symphony’s seventh Music Director. He has since made Lubbock his home and is deeply involved in community outreach throughout the region.
Tickets for Dinner and a Cho are available now online. Individual dinner tickets are $50, tables for eight are $500, and show-only tickets are $20. Tickets must be purchased by Monday, January 26. Proceeds will benefit LCU Friends of the Arts.
