As the 2026-2027 academic year kicks off, I am excited to update you about the encouraging developments within the LCU College of Business. Since the fall of 2020, the College of Business has grown by almost 50% and accounts for almost 30% of the entire LCU student body. This recent trend is a testament to excellent work by our student recruiters and our growing reputation for a high-quality business education that remains true to our mission as a Christian university. This growth is also the result of two of the largest freshman classes in LCU’s history. The future is bright for the LCU College of Business.
Our growing enrollment has created opportunities for students on many different levels:
- In 2025 the Women in Business student organization was founded to support the growing number of women who are studying business at LCU.
- The Student Investment Group (SIG) continues to grow with increased student participation and a growing endowment ($400,000). This group is mentored by Dr. Haley Burton. The goal of the SIG is to grow the endowment to $2 million.
- Christian Perspectives in Business, our annual trip with students to visit Christian business leaders across the country continues its strong tradition, possible destinations for 2026 include San Antonio or Houston. Past destinations include Atlanta, Nashville, Austin, Dallas, and Fort Worth.
- In January 2027, the LCU College of Business will be the first university in Texas to host a chapter of the Justice for Fraud Victims Project. This is an initiative that allows accounting students to work with local law enforcement to investigate financial fraud for victims that otherwise could not afford these services.
In this newsletter we will highlight our longest-tenured member of the faculty, Dr. Russell Dabbs, and two current students: Veronica Khadzhi and Alfons Raawall. We will also get to glimpse into the life and career of 2017 graduate Mickey Brunton.
The LCU College of Business is growing and thriving. As an alumnus and friend of the College of Business, I want you to be proud of your university and proud of your degree from LCU. We want you to be an ambassador for LCU in your businesses, your churches, and your personal relationships. If you would like to assist the College of Business to grow our programs and extend our reach to future university students, please contact me directly.
Enjoy reading about faculty, current students, and your fellow alumni.
