As the 2026-2027 academic year kicks off, I am excited to update you about the encouraging developments within the LCU College of Business. Since the fall of 2020, the College of Business has grown by almost 50% and accounts for almost 30% of the entire LCU student body. This recent trend is a testament to excellent work by our student recruiters and our growing reputation for a high-quality business education that remains true to our mission as a Christian university. This growth is also the result of two of the largest freshman classes in LCU’s history. The future is bright for the LCU College of Business.
The LCU College of Business is blessed to have students from all over the United States and world. While a majority of our students are still from Texas, we are broadening our reach to attract students that would not normally consider moving to West Texas. Below we introduce you to Veronica Khadzhi and Alfons Raawall. Veronica is a senior management major from Nashville, TN, and Alfons is a senior from Göteborg, Sweden majoring in Economics. These two students exemplify the type of students that make LCU the great university that it is.
The story of each life abounds with unexpected twists and turns. Michael “Mickey” Brunton (LCU ’17) came from Luton, England to LCU and the dusty plains of West Texas in 2013 on a soccer scholarship. He credits LCU as being “the foundation of [his] story.” Brunton now lives in Chelsea, NY, working for Eaton Partners, a division of Stifel (NYSE: SF).
Dr. Russell Dabbs has been the cornerstone for the College of Business since arriving on campus in 2001. He was hired as a Professor of Economics and the Chair of the Business Administration Department, as the College of Business was known at that time. For the past 25 years, he has been driven by his vision of the unlimited potential of LCU and the College of Business.
