Lubbock Christian University confirms its participation as a recipient of funds available through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund provision inherent in the CARES Act. Lubbock Christian University hereby acknowledges the university signed and submitted the certification agreement on April 13, 2020. Furthermore, the university intends to use at least 50% of the received funds to provide emergency financial aid to students of the university.
As of March 31, 2021, Lubbock Christian University has received $1,422,450 in CARES Act HEERF funds and has distributed $1,422,450 to students. Of the 1915 eligible students identified by the university for CARES Act HEERF funding, 1453 disbursements have been made to students.
For a student to be eligible for CARES Act HEERF, the following criteria were applied for each student:
In addition, students were required to affirm incurred expenses under allowable items in CARES Act, Section 484 and request funds via an electronic application link sent to the student’s LCU email address for HEERF I funding. Students were required to affirm whether or not they wanted HEERF II funding applied to their spring charges or distributed directly to them via check.
To facilitate this process, these students were provided an application “link” and guidance in their university email account with a subject line: COVID-19 Emergency Aid Application for LCU Students.
