Art History Minors learn about the art and architecture of principal artists of major art periods of the past, gaining an extensive understanding of art from early Prehistory to the twentieth and twenty-first century. Art History focuses not only on the material aspects of cultural and visual expression, but also how art reveals the development of society through history, politics, religion, commerce, science, and technology. Art Minors gain experience in observing art, think critically about the interaction between art and society, benefit from targeted undergraduate research and participate in opportunities to present findings at campus, state and national conferences. The art history minor compliments any major.
