Service Opportunities

Part of serving God is serving others. At LCU, you have the unique opportunity to express your faith through active service in our local community or across the globe. The students, employees, and alums of LCU are committed to service as a part of the LCU Mission. Each year student groups work with local ministries, agencies, and individuals in and around the Lubbock community benefiting over 30 organizations and causes. Most recently, as a part of LCU’s 60th Anniversary in 2016-17, the LCU community came together as organizations, athletic teams, departments, and employees and alums to complete over 60 service projects in celebration of 60 years.

One program in particular that has grown out of this service initiative is the LCU Student Food Pantry. At LCU and colleges and universities across the nation, the problem of food insecurity is a growing concern. The LCU Student Food Pantry is designed to meet the immediate needs of struggling LCU students by providing a variety of non-perishable food items and basic necessities. The pantry is designed to be a short-term immediate solution and is not replace the more equipped longer term resources of local agencies and ministries. More information and guidelines regarding the LCU Student Food Pantry is available in the Student Life office.

You can join a student organization, volunteer individually or take part in of one of our campus-wide service projects.
