C.S. Lewis and the Post Modern Generation: His Message 50 Years Later

On March 22nd at 7:00 p.m., Lubbock Christian University and the Lanier Theological Library of Houston will feature renowned theologian, Dr. Alister McGrath to present a lecture on C.S. Lewis and the Post Modern Generation. Dr. McGrath is currently undergoing research on the late C.S. Lewis. His new book entitled C.S. Lewis – A Life. Reluctant Prophet, Eccentric Genius, is to be published right around the time he will be visiting Lubbock this March. In accompaniment with his book, Dr. McGrath has a collection of eight major academic essays on Lewis to be published in May 2013. Dr. McGrath’s discoveries in his book and 8 academic essays are sure to be shared throughout this lecture as Dr. McGrath explores Lewis’ message 50 years later.

Lubbock Christian University is one of only 4 locations Dr. McGrath will be stopping at while in America, making this an exceptional opportunity for Lubbock scholars and residents alike. The lecture will take place in the McDonald Moody Auditorium on the LCU campus and is open to the public, free of charge, but advanced seat registration is requested.

Earning both a Ph.D. in molecular biophysics and a Doctorate of Divinity from Oxford University, Dr. McGrath has a profound field of knowledge about the interaction between Christian theology and the natural sciences, the two major themes for much of his life work.

Dr. Alister McGrath is currently the Professor of Theology, Ministry, and Education at King’s College London, and the Head of the Center for Theology, Religion, and Culture. He is also Senior Research Fellow at Harris Manchester College, Oxford, and President of the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics.
