Lubbock Christian University’s online programs have been recognized through high rankings by various educational resource sites for 2016:
- Accredited Schools Online ranked LCU fourth out of 27 for Best Online Schools in Texas in the 4-Year College category,
- GoGrad ranked LCU second out of 33 Top Online Master’s in Counseling programs, and
- BestColleges.com ranked LCU 19 out of 25 for Best Online Colleges in Texas.

A leading resource for online learning and college accreditation, Accredited Schools Online analyzes data from hundreds of colleges across the nation with online degrees.
At fourth out of 27 schools in the 4-year college category, LCU ranked ahead of Texas Tech University (14th), West Texas A&M (23rd) and Texas Tech Health Sciences Center (24th).
A press release from the website added: “LCU received this ranking by offering a notable balance of academic rigor, student support, and affordability for online learning.”

GoGrad ranks higher education institutions with the best combination of academic quality, accommodation, guidance, and affordability. LCU scored second on GoGrads list of top 33 online master’s in counseling programs.
“When we took our graduate counseling programs online, we wanted to provide a quality experience for students that combined cutting edge technology with strategic face-to-face meetings,” said Beth Robinson, director of the graduate behavioral science program. “The GoGrad ranking indicates that our students are getting excellent preparation for their professional roles as counselors.”
“There is nothing impersonal about online education at LCU. Every professor I have had in the mental health counseling program has taken a genuine interest in my academic and professional objectives,” added John Knox, a student in the online clinical mental health counseling program. “At LCU you will encounter professors that are authentically collaborative in the online educational process.”
LCU offers several online master’s in counseling degrees including MS in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, MS in School Counseling, and a MS in Counseling.
BestColleges primarily ranks schools by attempting to measure academic quality and general affordability, in addition to the extent of programs offered with online options. BestColleges ranks LCU 19th out of 25 of the best online schools in Texas.
In its ranking, BestColleges.com highlights that "LCU integrates Christian ethic into all of its curriculum, and many of its online degree programs in the behavioral sciences are grounded in Christian ethos."
