Lubbock Christian University is pleased to announce that its new competitive cheer program, slated to begin fall 2018, has named Ultimate Cheer Lubbock as the program’s official gym.
LCU Cheer coach Kayli Durham states, “We are extremely excited to have this partnership with Ultimate Cheer Lubbock. Once the LCU Cheer program begins in fall 2018, we will be able to practice in the state of the art facility that Ultimate Cheer offers, giving us the tools we need to take off.”
Ultimate Cheer Lubbock is a 9,000 square foot facility featuring a full-size all-star competition spring floor, a full-size school competition hard floor, 30-foot tumble track trampoline with resi-pit landing mat, rod floor, and numerous additional training mats.
“Not only was ultimate cheer equipped with a great facility for our upcoming cheer team to practice on, they also share the same values that LCU and LCU Cheer upholds,” Durham said.
Sherry Cate, co-owner of Ultimate Cheer Lubbock added, “At Ultimate Cheer Lubbock, we help athletes reach their full potential in a positive, family atmosphere. We are excited to partner with LCU to create this new varsity program and look forward to the positive impact it will have on both organizations.”
The LCU Cheer program is a division of LCU Athletics and will provide opportunities for students to cheer for LCU varsity athletics, to compete, and to receive scholarships. This will be the first time that the cheerleading program will compete at a collegiate, national level. Tryouts for the new program will be held on April 20 and 21.
