On March 31, 2020, Lubbock Christian University had planned a Day of Giving, with a goal to engage 500 donors, all in one day, to support LCU.  Although it is mission critical that we raise financial resources for student scholarships, the Day of Giving was transformed into a 40-day commitment to praying for our students, faculty, staff, communities, and nation.  Forty days from March 31 is May 9, the original date scheduled for spring undergraduate commencement. Our goal is to engage 500 people, but we are changing the focus of what we are asking of everyone. 500 people committing to praying for Lubbock Christian University would be an amazing blessing. Would you commit to pray?

Also, we have such a unique opportunity to share joy and love in a time of confusion, so we encourage everyone to submit a thought about why you love Lubbock Christian University.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Jesus Christ.”  I Thessalonians 5:16-18

Pray for LCU

We are asking you to pick a day and a time to pray for our students, faculty, staff, community and nation. Prayer is one of the most powerful opportunities we have to support each other. Please take an hour out of the next forty days to talk with God about the plans He has for the LCU community and around the world. For those who live in the Lubbock area, you may choose to walk around the LCU campus mall during your time of prayer.  We would love to surpass 500 hours of prayer for wisdom, growth in our faith, and service opportunities to a world that desperately needs Him.

Positive thoughts and stories are fantastic for lifting spirits! Please take a moment to join LCU alumni and friends around the world in sharing why YOU LOVE LCU. Experiences/memories are important in shaping who we are because of the emotions that are tied to them. Your story may be comical, heartfelt, life changing, and/or powerful.  We will be posting your submissions on LCU social media pages over the next 40 days.  Help bring a smile to someone today by expressing your positive thoughts on how LCU has influenced your life.
