The spring commencement ceremonies at Lubbock Christian University graduated over 230 students on May 4 and 5. Both ceremonies were streamed live.
The graduate commencement was held Friday evening in the McDonald Moody Auditorium with 61 graduates.
Dr. LaNell Harrison (’02), director of LCU graduate nursing, spoke at the Master’s Commencement. Raised in Papua New Guinea by missionary parents, Harrison worked in business before becoming a registered nurse. She is an active member of Sunset Church of Christ and participates in medical missions around the world. She began her education career at South Plains before accepting a full-time teaching position at LCU in 2004.
The undergraduate commencement was held Saturday morning in the Rip Griffin Center with 175 graduates.
Eddie Lee (’76) has served at Midland Christian School for 43 years and as superintendent for 33 years. Lee has held numerous leadership roles, serving as past president and current board member of the Texas Christian Schools Association, long-time member of the National Christian Schools Association (NCSA) Board of Trustees, and 20-year chair of the NCSA Board Commissioners for Accreditation. He is the longest-tenured superintendent of all NCSA K-12 Christian Schools in Texas, and he has been honored with numerous awards of recognition throughout his career.
