Primary Function: Provide brief counseling services and urgent needs counseling to continuously improve the quality of student life at Lubbock Christian University. 

Major Duties:

  • Provide brief counseling services for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Assist with scheduled educational programs as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of clients in counseling.
  • Proactively and directly impact lives for good.
  • Establish an excellent customer service environment in the Counseling Center.
  • Suggest referrals to community counselors for long term counseling needs, at client’s expense.
  • Uphold and support the core values of Lubbock Christian University.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and on an as-needed basis.

Education and Experience:

  • Master’s degree in counseling required; licensed as a Mental Health Professional or Associate; 1-2 years’ experience in counseling preferred.

Physical Requirements: 

  • While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to walk and reach with hands and arms.  The employee is occasionally required to stand or climb.  The employee must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
