Multimedia and Staging Coordinator

Functional Title: Multimedia and Staging Coordinator

Primary Function: Coordinate and execute all non-academic multimedia and staging.

Major Duties: The Multimedia and Staging Coordinator is responsible for managing the multimedia and the staging for various events, projects, and initiatives within the university. This role involves designing lighting, sound, and staging, as well as execution of each of these facets during campus events across multiple platforms to engage audiences and promote brand awareness.

Job Requirements: 

  • Coordinate multimedia projects from conception to completion, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation, while ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Optimize multimedia content for various platforms and devices to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, communications, and design, to align multimedia efforts with overall strategies and objectives.
  • Liaise with external vendors for equipment rentals and other specialized needs that might require outsourcing.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in multimedia production to recommend innovative solutions and strategies.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communication, multimedia design, digital media, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in multimedia design, production, and project management.
  • Proficiency in software to support design, layout, and execution of multimedia projects.
  • Strong creative and visual storytelling skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with the cross-functional MarCom team, as well as with all campus constituents and departments.
  • Time management and organization skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of multimedia optimization techniques for web, mobile, and social media platforms.
  • Familiarity with multimedia trends, technologies, and best practices.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative while also thriving in a collaborative team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and stay updated on new multimedia tools, techniques, and technologies.

Physical Requirements: 

While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee will be required to do the following:

  • Be ambulatory around campus and in buildings.
  • Required to regularly sit and stand.
  • Frequently use wrist, hands and/or fingers to make small repetitive movements such as typing, distributing mail, and picking up small objects.
  • Ability to talk frequently to convey detailed and/or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Be able to hear average or normal conversations and receive verbal information.
  • Required to lift packages and/or move heavy objects, 25+lbs.
