Position: Dean, School of Business, twelve-month appointment 

School of Business:

The School of Business is the largest undergraduate academic unit at Lubbock Christian University with approximately 275 students, offering Bachelor’s degrees in the following majors:  Accounting, Finance, Economics, Information Systems and Technology, Management Information Systems, Digital Media Arts and Business Administration (emphases in Management, Marketing, Agribusiness and Business Administration). Additionally, the School of Business offers a Master of Accounting (MAcc).  The LCU School of Business is currently a candidate for accreditation with the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).


  • The LCU School of Business seeks a dean who can lead the faculty and contribute to the mission of preparing students for their calling as Christ-centered business professionals, fully equipped for lives of Christian service and leadership.
  • An earned doctorate in a discipline within the School is required. An exceptional record of teaching, scholarly activity and professional service is required. Previous leadership in the academy or in a Business organization is expected. An applicant with a master’s degree and extensive executive experience leading business organizations may be considered. Applicants must have a commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and interdisciplinary collaboration. All qualified applicants must be professing Christians and be active, faithful members of a congregation of the Churches of Christ and be willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of the university.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership with a compelling vision for the School of Business
  • Demonstrate excellent people and communication skills with the ability to articulate and promote the mission of the University
  • Administrative experience in fiscal and personnel management
  • Willingness to engage in successful fund raising
  • Strategic planning and assessment

The dean reports to the Provost and will work closely with other senior academic officers of the University. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leadership of faculty and staff in the School of Business
  • Strategic visioning for the School of Business
  • Work closely with the Provost to provide strategic vision and leadership for the University;
  • Work closely with the Chair of Academic Affairs within the School of Business on curriculum and program direction
  • Teach 3-6 hours each semester
  • Advise and mentor student
  • Other duties as assigned

Submit a letter of interest, a current curriculum vita, official transcripts of all university work, and four unique documents detailing the applicant’s: 1) philosophy of the integration of faith and learning, 2) philosophy of teaching, 3) philosophy of scholarly activity, and 4) philosophy of service as email attachments to Dr. Toby Rogers, Dean, College of Professional Studies ( Three letters of recommendation should be sent by references directly to Dr. Rogers.  The search begins immediately and will continue until the position is filled or closed.
