Welcome to the B. Ward Lane College of Science and Health Professions at LCU.
When students come to the College of Science and Health Professions, they will participate in rich, experiential learning opportunities alongside highly accomplished, mentoring faculty. They will join programs meeting high levels of academic accreditation standards and work with faculty that consistently make meaningful contributions to scholarship in their disciplines. In addition, students will have access to state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, and learning spaces with two of LCU’s newest academic buildings, the James and Jeanette Ling Science Center and the Margaret Talkington Center for Nursing Education.
In addition to stellar academic programming, unique experiential learning opportunities abound in this college that foster student engagement, high levels of critical thinking, and faculty mentorship (including medical and other mission trips, faculty-led extracurricular and curricular trips, internships, and undergraduate research). Our exceptional growth in undergraduate research (resulting in regional and national student presentations) and our impressive acceptance rates into medical, dental, veterinary, and a variety of allied health professional programs (well above the national average), are a couple of examples that demonstrate the quality of high-impact learning and mentoring that occurs. Each of these successes represent countless hours of faculty mentoring and relationship building with students. Faculty in this college are committed to walk alongside students in a way that models Christ and challenges students to grow in areas they never thought possible. Students will witness a Christ-centered approach to scholarship that will have a profound influence on their professional lives.
If you are interested in careers in nursing and/or other healthcare disciplines, wellness-related fields, social work, criminal justice, mathematics and engineering, basic science and scientific research, or ecology and conservation, I invite you to explore the possibilities found within the B.
